CONFIGURATION OF ZTE ZXDSL 531
1. Check the orange light of DSL link of modem.(If it is not connect your telephone line directly without using white box(converter).
2. Click on start->run-> type here “ 192.168.1.1 –t” and check whether ping is replying or not, if it is replying than we can say that your modem is working properly,
3. Open your internet explorer and write 192.168.1.1 on address bar
4. Give username ->admin & password->admin.
5. Now click on advanced setting in left hand side toolbar
6. Then click on “WAN”
7. Now click on edit
8. You have to set two ports 0 & 35.
9. Click on next
10. Select bridging at the place poope
11. Now click on next until the message called “close the internet explorer for two minutes”
12. Follow this instruction
13. No w make new connection
14. Follow the basic steps of broadband connection
15. Now give username and password given by bsnl
16. Connect it to internet and enjoy

CONFIGURATION OF ZTE ZXDSL 531 (TYPE-2)
4-LAN/Wireless LAN
1. Connect the modem with your computer with the LAN cable and turn it on.
2. Open your internet explorer and type 192.168.1.1 in the address bar. Type the username and password as “admin”.
3. After logging in, click Advance Setup on L.H.S. menu.
4. A table appears, check the checkbox in the first row showing pvc 0 under the head remove, then click Remove button at the bottom.
5. Click Add, ensure the vci value as 35 , click Next.
For customers using dialer for broadband
1. Select the connection type as Bridging and encapsulation as LLC, click Next.
2. Click Apply/Save, the table again appears, click Save and Reboot at the bottom of the table, wait for approx. 3 min. to automatically reboot the modem. After the modem reboots, connect your broadband using the your broadband dialer.
For customer using Always On mode
1. Select the connection type as PPPOE, click Next.
2. Type your broadband username, password provided by your ISP and service name as multiplay, click Next.
3. Click next upto the last page, click Apply/Save.
4. The table again appears, click Save and Reboot at the bottom of the table, wait for approx. 3 min. to automatically reboot the modem. After the modem reboots, confirm the stability of DSL light, after it becomes stable, you can start using your internet connection.

configured the LAN ip setting based on many
as 192.168.1.x(2-255) then
sub net 255.255.255.0 and
default get way as
192.168.1.1 -
then i login to 192.168.1.1 for setting up of router thorugh user name and
password using admin.
changed the WAN setting to PPPOE and sepcify the username and password as given by BSNL.
ocnfigured the wireless setting and security. Only name and security has been defined for
the wireless.
specified the DNS server setting as primary 218.248.240.46 and 218.248.255.146
in IPsec--capability--enable bitswap.
in LAN--enable DHCP enter start IP address as 192.168.1.3(if you are using usb port of
modem too).
in TCP/IP settings v4---select"obtain IP address automatically","obtain DNS server address
automatically".
