DUF (Dataone Usage Finder) is a very simple screen scraper program coded in VB6 (Yes guys, VB is still used!) which uses IE5 or higher, to fetch pages from the BSNL site, and after parsing out the required records, presents them in a manner which is more helpful. This data can also be saved as html files

So, the inevitable change to the BSNL site happened.
Nothing major. Just a few words changed here and there and DUF started complaining yet again.
The last version lasted only a couple of months as compared to the earlier version which kept on going for nearly an year.

The relation between DUF and BSNL appears to be too fragile for comfort, and I guess we will have to live with it.
To make things a little easier for myself and also for the users who have to download and setup a brand new version of DUF every time the Chinese out there at BSNL decide to brush up their English, I have made some changes to the way DUF is deployed.

Now on, modifications made as a result of the structural changes to BSNL site will not require the download of the entire setup.
Small patches will be released.
Whenever a previously working DUF starts whining, user can ask DUF itself to find if a patch to the problem is available.
If it is, the user can choose to ask DUF to download and apply it without any hassle.
Of course, user can also download the patches from this site manually.

What is DUF?

Dataone is a broadband Internet service (www.bsnl.co.in/service/dataone.htm) offered by BSNL, a major ISP of India.. This service imposes an upload/download usage limit on its users. Usage between 2am and 8am is free, under certain schemes.
This makes it imperative for the users to keep an eye on their usage statistics. However, the BSNL website which provides these usage figures is not very useful, as any Dataone user will vouch.

Only the monthly total of the bandwidth used is provided. There is no provision for knowing the daily total. Also there is no demarcation between free time usage and paid time usage. These are the very figures a user would be most intersted in.

There're moments that make your heart beat faster, you watch the events with eyes and jaws wide open. Sure, there're blemishes as well, but they don't overpower the plusses or make you change your opinion about the film. While the beginning and the middle of the film is engrossing, it's the end that could've been better thought of.

Step1If you are using PC, follow this step and make sure the iTunes sync add-in is enabled in Outlook.




Outlook 2003

1. In Outlook, choose Tools > Options.
2. Click Other and then click Advanced Options.
3. Select COM add-ins and select the iTunes sync add-in and click OK.
4. Click Apply and then continue with the steps below.

Outlook 2007

1. In Outlook, choose Tools > Trust Center.
2. In the Categories pane, click Add-ins.
3. In the Details pane, locate the iTunes add-in in the "Inactive Application Add-ins" list.
4. In the Manage box, click COM Add-ins, and then click Go.
5. In the COM Add-Ins dialog box, select the iTunes sync add-in.
6. Click OK.

If you are Mac users, skip this step...
Step2Connect iPhone

Connect iPhone to your computer using the included cable... and iTunes should open automatically.
Step3Select iPhone in the iTunes Source pane.
Step4Set Up Which Items Are Synced

1. Click the Info tab in iTunes, then do one of the following:
* If you're using a Mac, select "Sync Address Book contacts."
* If you're using a PC, select "Sync contacts from" and then choose Yahoo! Address Book, Windows Address Book, or Outlook from the pop-up menu.
2. Select "All contacts," or select "Selected groups" and select the groups you want to sync.
3. If you're using a Mac, select "Sync Yahoo! Address Book contacts" if you also want to sync with your Yahoo! contacts.

You only need to click Configure when you change your Yahoo! ID or password after you've set up syncing. Click Configure and enter your new login information


Does anybody know if the tranfer will work for Outlook 2000? I've tried it and about 3/4ths came thru, but not all. Suggestions?

on 8/11/2008 If you're having trouble transferring your contacts from a Sprint phone to an iPhone, it turns out one of the guys at Wired Magazine just did a podcast about this-- he started with a Sprint phone and ended up going to SEVEN different stores-- various locations of Sprint, AT&T, the Apple Store, and Best Buy-- before he found someone who could transfer his contacts. This software will instantly recover all WEP keys and wireless network passwords that have been stored on your computer. To get started, click “Find Wireless WEP Keys”. It will then display the adapter GUID and all recovered information associated with it including the wireless network name (SSID), the encryption type (WEP 40, WEP 104, or WPA-PSK), and the WEP key associated with each network. At the bottom of the screen you can see the name of your current Ethernet adapter, the total Kb sent and received during the current Windows session, and the current down/up throughput.
